Greyhound Necklace
The Greyhound Totem.
The very first Greyhound Necklace of this design was created for
a dear friend who has rescued racing dogs and brought them to a
happy life as Royal Hounds at Renaissance Fairs in Michigan. The
reference material for the Greyhound necklace was carefully chosen
to express the majesty and beauty that Greyhounds posses. The Greyhound
necklace is hand cut (pierced)
from your choice of metal and hangs from a 30" adjustable leather
cord.
The Greyhound is the second fastest accelerating land mammal surpassed
only by the cheetah. The Celts revered Greyhounds for their speed,
skill, grace in the hunt, and loyalty. In medieval heraldry the
Greyhound is said to denote majesty, courage, vigilance, swiftness
and loyalty, and they were emblematic of nobility.

Each Greyhound pendant is individually hand
cut, please allow for variation in individual pieces.
After being cut and polished the copper, nickel, and brass pendants
are coated in bees wax to protect their finish. As they age they
will gain a natural patina that is individual to the piece and how
it is worn.
Cleaning: Pendants can be cleaned with a soft
polishing cloth. If needed the leather cord can be removed and the
pendants washed with a mild non-abrasive soap and water.
