FAQ
Do you ship overseas?
Shipping to the UK is the only overseas destination currently set up.
Due to import/export regulations no shell products will be shipped overseas.
Import fees are applicable to UK shipments payable to Royal Mail upon
receipt of shipment. Check with the Royal Mail for current duty and VAT
fees.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. Through the shopping cart you can make a payment with Master Card,
Visa, Discover, and American Express. The shopping cart is through PayPal
but you do not need a PayPal account or to sign up for PayPal to make
a credit card payment.
Do you handle custom orders?
Yes. Information on how to place a custom order and what to expect can
be found on our custom order page.
Do you work in titanium?
No. Working with titanium requires special equipment that I do not have.
Do you work in gold?
Yes on a custom order basis. Because of the cost of gold I do not stock
it. The gold items that are stocked are made from 14/20 (or 1/20th 14
karat) gold filled metal. It is made by heat and pressure-bonding a layer
of gold to a brass core. The 1/20 notation refers to the ratio of the
14 karat gold layer to the brass layer by weight, which is 5%.
The value of gold-filled is greater than gold-plated because gold-filled
has an actual layer, not just a microscopic film of karat gold and they
meet federal standards for quality and content.
Why are your prices so low?
I do not believe that the “standard” markup for jewelry is
fair. Charging you an extra $300 on some of the stones that I do nothing
more than place in a setting is ridiculous. I sell jewelry because I enjoy
making it, not to get rich.
Are the stones you use real?
Most of the stones listed are natural but some are not. The stones that
are not natural are marked as lab-grown, synthetic, or simulated. You
can find information about the cabochon stones available on the Cabochon
Stone Information pages (A-E, G-O,
P-U.) Information on the faceted stones can
be found on the Faceted Stone Information pages (A-E,
F-R, S-Z.)
Is every piece completely handmade start to finish?
No. Some pieces are fabricated (put together) with findings (pre-made
pieces.) This is more economical for you since some parts are far less
expensive for me to buy then they are for me to make. |
